Cultural and Historic Preservation
The cultural and historic preservation program provided me with a diverse base of knowledge and skill sets. Additionally, the hands-on focus prepared me for working on real-world projects and allowed me to feel connected to the city of Newport, our living laboratory.

Internship experiences, which are strongly encouraged for cultural and historic preservation majors, provide opportunities to further the work of preservation within the local community. Under the direction of practitioners, students work in offices and institutions that deal with preservation.
