Title IX and Sexual Misconduct

Salve Regina is committed to ensuring compliance with Title IX, a federal law that prohibits institutions of higher education from discriminating against students or employees on the basis of sex in any programs or activities.

Sexual misconduct – which includes sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking – is a kind of discrimination and is prohibited by Title IX and Salve Regina. Title IX requires the University, upon becoming aware of any incident of sexual misconduct, to respond appropriately to protect and maintain the safety of our community, including students, faculty and staff.
