Mission Integration

As a Catholic institution founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Salve Regina welcomes people of all beliefs, seeking wisdom and promoting universal justice.

The Office of Mission Integration advances the mercy, Catholic mission of Salve Regina by partnering with students, faculty, staff, community partners, trustees and alumni in the classroom, on campus and in the community. Three areas comprise the work of the Office of Mission Integration: the Center for Spiritual Life, the Center for Community Engagement and Service, and the McAuley Institute for Mercy Education.

In keeping with the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy, and recognizing that all people are stewards of God's creation, the University encourages students to work for a world that is harmonious, just and merciful.

Center for Spiritual Life

We seek to create a hospitable and nurturing environment that affirms and empowers our students in their search for meaning. The Center for Spiritual Life encourages students to build community, to deepen their faith, to engage in service, to seek justice and to become leaders formed by mercy.

Center for Community Engagement and Service

The Center for Community Engagement and Service seeks to address the expressed needs of our local and global community, advancing the common good, experiential learning and the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy.

McAuley Institute for Mercy Education

The McAuley Institute for Mercy Education advances the vocation of the University by fostering an ethic of interdisciplinary dialogue and action around the Critical Concerns of Mercy and contributes to the development of mercy, Catholic higher education in the 21st century.

Sustainability

Now more than ever, it is imperative that every person put their best foot forward to heal our ailing environment, not just for our own sake, but for the sake of our global neighbors.

Cassidy Curry, double major in environmental studies and global studies

Sigma Phi Sigma

The students in Sigma Phi Sigma represent the best of Salve Regina. The society holds members to a high standard of living out our mercy mission through its three pillars: scholarship, fidelity and service. Being inducted into Sigma Phi Sigma is a high honor that comes with great responsibility.

Michael Rosati, double major in elementary and special education

Mission Effectiveness Statements

Students, faculty, staff and the Board of Trustees live out the mission in ways unique to their own vocation at Salve Regina. Mission effectiveness statements are widely used in orientations, interviews and assessment practices on campus.

The Heritage and the Promise

"The Heritage and the Promise" provides an introduction to the early days of Salve Regina, a brief history of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy, and a look at the University's future goals.

Living Mercy

Living Mercy Book

A collection of essays, that honor the sense of vocation and this spirit of mercy that has enlivened and guided the University for the last 75 years. Inspired by the accomplishments of the past and looking forward to the call of the future, these essays provide a starting point for University-wide conversations to support Salve Regina in discerning how it will move into the increasingly complex challenges of the future.
