Personal Statement:

I applied to schools based on wanting to go into aerospace engineering. I decided on Ohio State University so I could pursue that while also having the option to do cheerleading and/or marching band because I loved both in high school. After getting to school, I decided that I wanted to focus on cheerleading. I then changed majors after a major family loss resulted in my grades faltering. I stayed in Ohio for a year after graduation to coach a local middle school cheerleading team and at a gym. During that year, my friend suggested I move home and start coaching at Providence College, as his graduate assistantship was ending. I moved back and have been coaching there ever since. After two years of coaching, I became the spirit program graduate assistant and started my master's in higher education and a sports administration certificate, still planning to find a full-time position to coach collegiate cheerleading. While pursuing my master's, I discovered a passion for student support services and student development and by extension, career development. Once I started my job search, I was extremely fortunate to find my way to my current position and join the team here at Salve Regina.
